Normal after Trump

Go Back to Normal After Trump by Alex Kingsbury. March 1, 2019.

President Trump was accused of multiple crimes by his former attorney. The country until this day spends decades treating crimes by the poor as felonies and crimes by the powerful as misdemeanors.
From the start of Trump’s career, he and his father were charged with discriminating against African-Americans in their apartment rentals. Later on, one of his casino was charged with money laundering and got off with a fine. After Trump was elected, a university that bore his name settled a class-action lawsuit brought by former students. And after an investigation, it was found that the Trump Foundation was being used as an ATM by the family.
While the number of prosecutions went up for illegals, the pro citizens committing crimes went down. Research suggests that the public is increasingly aware of the seriousness of white-collar crime and becoming more punitive toward those found guilty of it. It gave white-collar criminals parking tickets, while sending SWAT teams after drug dealers because it viewed one type of criminal as a far greater threat to the republic.

I agree with the writer of this article because it states that there are a lot of people that are getting away with crimes. This is not a good example for the people of the United States of America. Trump being president and once his term is over, we still don’t know if we can get back to normal from this mess. The writer informs the reader about some important findings about the president that not everyone knew about. His opinion is that Trump is not a good example for the people and should have never been president.
